Timothy Gold

My education includes a BA in Art Education from Edgecliff College (Cincinnati, OH) and an MA in Art Education from Northern Kentucky University, as well as some courses in Graphic Design from the College of Mount St. Joseph (Cincinnati, OH). My artistic style has been described as minimalist, as well as colorist. I paint with acrylics using a hard-edge style with transparent qualities often depicting the human form with a bold, simple use of color. The colors used are all complementary: red, green, yellow, purple, blue and orange and their combinations. The subjects often come from old black and white photos. Photos that show family or friend relationships especially appeal to me. Since November 2001, my work has been exhibited in coffeehouses, galleries and competitions throughout Kentucky and Southern Ohio. I am a 2004 grant recipient from Summerfair, Inc., based in Cincinnati, OH.
